The Predictable Death of David Rakoff
"Today" reports the news of David Rakoff, a humorist and author with a cynical viewpoint:
"Rakoff opened up about his diagnosis on "The Daily Show" in 2010, once he was undergoing chemotherapy for a malignant tumor. (This was his second go-around with the disease, having faced Hodgkin's disease, a form of lymphomia, when he was 22.) As he told host Jon Stewart at the time, 'When it turns out to be your own mortality on the line, people tend to be quite optimistic about their long-term chances for survival. The will to keep on going is incredibly strong.'"
Rakoff was cynical, but not cynical enough. When will people become cynical about the "treatment" of chemo? When will news reports start correctly reporting the cause of death? Instead of writing that the person died of cancer, tell the truth and write that the person died of chemo.
Just say no to chemo.

The Predictable Death of Levon Helm

The Band singer Levon Helm is dead at age 71 after a long battle with cancer, the Times Herald-Record reports. He passed away April 19 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
There is nothing more to be said. If you go to Sloan-Kettering and subject yourself to the mustard gas "treatment" called chemotherapy, your chances for survival are abysmal. Two GM executives, Sloan and Kettering, founded the Cancer Center as a business venture, to MAKE A PROFIT. There is no altruism here, they did not care about anyone's cancer, they cared about the bottom line. The well-meaning medical people who entered the oncology profession may or may not know that they are simply the pawns of Big Pharma. They are agents of death.
It is upsetting that the cancer industry has claimed another rock icon. George Harrison, now Levon Helm. Who's next? When someone with celebrity status is diagnosed with cancer, the fear factor kicks in and they immediately want the best treatment that money can buy. Which, in the conventional world of medicine, is oncology at a cancer center. These rockers were counter-culture their entire lives; why are they now succumbing to mainstream medicine? Fear. Mainstream medicine, for cancer treatment, just DOES NOT WORK. How many more people, whether celebrity or ordinary, have to die to prove that point? What is everyone missing? Why don't people see that taking chemo results in death, not in restoration of health? Take the dead/alive survey: 1) how many people do you know who had cancer and took chemo and are dead? how many are alive? 2) how many people do you know who had cancer and did NOT take chemo and are dead? how many are alive? You can count me in the second group and I am in the alive category.
Wake up America. Your life depends on it.

The Predictable Death of Gary Carter
I blogged this Open Message to Gary Carter last June 1:
"Please tell Gary that if he does chemo, he will not survive. Chemo comes from mustard gas from the World Wars. It is toxic and kills the wrong cancer cells. It does not kill the regenerative cancer cells, which is why the cancer often comes back after chemo. It destroys the immune system when you need it the most. All it does is make money for the cancer industry. There are a lot of non-toxic treatments, he needs to do his research and not rush into chemo. I am a cancer survivor only by avoiding chemo. Look at Greta Waitz and Seve Ballesteros. They both were professional athletes and both had chemo. Chemo kills even professional athletes. My book is The Cancer Odyssey at amazon.com. Another good resource is Cancer-Free by Bill Henderson. Also, www.cancer-tutor.com. Start reading--it may save Gary's life."

Reasonable Doubt

49. The Last Word…
I am doing a final review of this manuscript, and drinking a cup of “Supreme Quality Green Tea” from Rwanda, the only tea in the world actually imported by China. We know that green tea contains polyphenols, which are anti-cancer agents. What is interesting about this particular tea is that the packaging states “Believed to inhibit an enzyme responsible for cancer cell growth and said to kill cultured cancer cells with no ill-effect on healthy cells.” This is a claim that could not be made by a green tea imported into the U.S.
My neighbor Bridget’s daughter is undergoing treatment in Germany, almost three (3) years after a renowned cancer center told her she had six (6) months to live and to go home and have a sirloin steak and an ice cream sundae. Today Bridget brought me a website page from Epeius Biotechnologies.1 In Greek mythology, Epeius was the designer of the original Trojan Horse, and Epeius Biotechnologies has developed a “tumor-targeted delivery vehicle,”--a “Trojan Horse.” This is the future of cancer treatments. The new biotech companies are thinking outside of the box, recognizing that the “standard of care” chemotherapy treatments do not work. Mainstream “Big Pharma” is on the wrong track, which is why Bridget’s daughter and others still have to leave the country for beneficial medical care. We need an Epeius, a Trojan Horse, to win the battle against Big Pharma. Twenty-five years ago, Mary Yevchak had to leave the country for beneficial medical care. In the words of the Beatles, “Nothing’s gonna change my world.” Things have not changed much in a quarter of a century in our American world, and things will not change unless we demand change. American citizens should not have to leave this country in the year 2011 to obtain the medical treatment of their choice. Companies should be permitted to import healthy products and to honestly describe what the beneficial effects of those products are, without censure. Demand change. Demand truth. Be inspired by Rwandan green tea. Be inspired by the efforts of Mary Yevchak and Bridget’s daughter, and all others who are fighting, not only cancer, but the larger battle against the cancer industry. Be part of the thought revolution. This is truth. This is inspiration.

I believe in Chemo (and the Easter Bunny too)
Most people accept the concept of chemotherapy unquestioningly, afraid to depart from conventional thinking. Dr. Ulrich Abel declared chemotherapy to be a “scientific wasteland,” and found that “at least 80% of chemotherapy administered throughout the world is worthless—but neither doctor nor patient is willing to give up on chemotherapy, even though there is no scientific evidence that it works.”
A survey of oncologists at McGill University Cancer Center found that 75% would refuse any type of chemotherapy, citing the “ineffectiveness of chemotherapy and its unacceptable degree of toxicity.”
A study conducted by Harvard researcher John Cairns showed that chemotherapy is “somewhat effective in only 2–3% of cancer patients, primarily those with the rarest kinds of cancer.”
I remember when I first learned that there was no Santa Claus. Disbelief, shock. That must be a lie. Because my parents wouldn't tell me a lie. But then all the evidence started piling up, and gradually I accepted that there was no Santa Claus. And I even understood why my parents made me believe in him: because eveyone else did.
So gradually the belief system developed throughout childhood and into adolescence and adulthood began to crumble. Most of what I believed as fact, was, in fact, myth or hype or lie. First, Santa Claus. Then the Easter Bunny. The Tooth Fairy. The Wizard of Oz. King Kong. Superman. The Y2K end of the world. The dot.coms. Pope John Paul I (anyone even remember him? Pope for 33 days in 1978 when assassinated by "insiders" because he supported birth control--read "In God's Name"). The pedophilic Catholic Church. The housing market. The economy. The banking industry. Wall Street. And now, chemo.
Disbelief. Shock. It must be a lie. Why would the cancer industry lie to me? For the money. It's always about the money. Outrage. Acceptance. Action.
If no one challenged conventional thought, the world would still be flat. All discoveries start with a departure from established thought.
